TGB Dual link problems

I'm trying to trade pokemon from Blue to Red and vica versa with TGB Dual, but I'm having some troubles. I load pokemon blue as gb1 and red as gb2 then go the same pokecenter with both the games and talk to the trading person there gb1 says something along the lines of blah blah blah please save you game, "yes", Please wait..... about 10 seconds later it says "link closed due to inactiveity" or something like that while this is happening all gb2 can do is talk to the person and she says "making prepartions please wait."

ok never mind I figured it out, heh, I'm stupid. I wasn't far enough into the red version to be allowed to trade.
