Lost Save Data from Power Surge on BSNES

Apologies to all. I'm new to using an emulator.

I'm playing Terranigma on a BSNES Emulator for Mac OS X Version 10.7.5. I'm about 8 hours into the game and have saved the game multiple times. I had a power surge and my computer shut off. When I restart my computer and the emulator the last save file is only about 5 hours into the game. I'm certain that I was much further in the game and had saved my progress before my computer was abruptly shut off. Is there any way to recover the data that I lost?

hmmm, that is interesting, have you been using saved states? When was your last ingame save?

save states are immediate, save game is not. When you save in game as you would on the console its not actually saved to a file till you exit the game. Your data is lost, sorry.
