Default ePSXe 1.6.0 problems with FFVIII and FFIX

Ok, lets start with Final Fantasy 8. First this game runs the best on my system by far than any other, ther is only one problem with it. When you encounter an enemy and you go into the fight scene. The action boxs and chooses do not appear. I am speaking the boxes that Contain your character Life, Guardian Force LIfe when you are summoning them, and Also the boxes that have attack, draw, item, summon, magic ect. None of these boxes appear. You can still select a choice but you have to guess which one you are own. I found on the internete someone who had the same problem and they were advised to turn up Off-Screen Drawing. This made the graphics look a lot worse and did not fix the problem. Does anybody have any other suggestions?

As for Final Fantasy 9, I have read of people having problems with a movie crashing on the thrid disk. Well I am having problems with a movie crashing too except mine is on the first disk. I am at the Villiage of Dali and I have already defeated Black Waltz No. 2. Then my party bourdes the Airship which is supposedly heading for Alexandra Castle although the main character tells the princes he will talk of it which I have not been able to find out what he means because as soon as they board the airship right after the main character graves the princisses' butt climing up the latter, the game switches to a move of the airship taking off and flying over the camera view. About the time the air ship gets directly above the camera view it freezes and music gets distorted and lines of colors go all over the screen just like a tipical crash. It keeps doing this at the same point in the movie. Any way to stop this?

    I am using Pete's OpenGL driver 2.6.

    Any help will be appreciated.

Just switch to ePSXe 1.5.2 and try again.

Ok, Thanks. That fixed my problem with Final Fantasy IX but not VIII but I adjusted some settings and got it to work now. Thanks again.
