PCSX2 1.0.0 - TOO SLOW!!!

Hey guys i am new to this pcsx2 thing..... and it's damn SLOW! i tried a lot of ways to improve the speed.......... but..... ugh...... is there any 'specific' way for ' Windows 7 ' to speed up the fps????
PS : Also i have my GS settings to software cause selecting DX9 hardware wont display anything.... and my windows update doesnt let me download the new version coz it says my gs plugin is upto date.......... what do i do???

LOL well duh... Software render is just that, using the CPU to calculate the 3d drawings. Its quite simply the slowest option you have! You need to address the dx9 issue ASAP. Make sure its up to date and so are the drivers. Also post your video card specs as TM said. If you have an E-machine or like you may have an onbaord video card and that will not work.
