For a little while now, I have been playing Pokemon FireRed on my Visualboy Advance emulator. However, lately there has been a very annoying problem.
I was fighting Giovanni for the first time, in Celadon City, and his Kangaskhan used Mega Punch. Yet, once he used this attack, a grating piece of sound became stuck in my game. I hoped that it would just last throughout the battle, but it continued when the battle was over, when I left the building, when I fought somebody else... I even tried using Mega Punch again with my Mankey, but that did not work either.
I've read that there is a solution to this problem, and that is to simply restart the game and load your save file. However, this only works with actual save files, and not with the save states. Yet the problem is, I can't save either! Whenever I try to save, I simply get an error saying "Save error. Please exchange the backup memory."
I've already tried changing the save file to Flash128k and to SRAM, but neither of them seem to work. I've also heard of certain "vba-over.ini" files, but appearantly they present a risk of you being unable to load your save states again. And I do not want to start all over again.
To give you an example of this sound that's stuck in my game, I've uploaded a small clip of sound on Dropbox. Keep in mind that this piece of sound always plays, no matter what you do, where you are, or how loud or soft the music is. It's really getting to the point where I get serious headaches after playing for just a few minutes, so I hope that at least somebody is able to help me.
