pcsx2 emulator problems

Every game I've tried playing on pcsx2 runs fine until it gets into some hectic part of the game, where it slows down significantly. After lurking in the forums and reading threads with the same problems as mine, I've determined that my specs are more than par that is required by pcsx2

CPU: AMD Phenom II X6 1090T Processor (6 CPUs), ~3.2GHz
RAM: 8192MB RAM
GPU: AMD Radeon HD 6800 Series

Games such as DQ8 and Budokai Tenkaichi 3 start slowing down severely after startup. I have no plug-ins (just kinda installed it and played) Is there any way to fix/troubleshoot this? any tips or tricks I'm missing? If it's just the way the emulator works, I suppose I should just go back to my ps2

Try to configure your plugins.Try lowering your resolution.Don't go in HD resolutions use low resolutions like :
640x480 60 Hz
800x600 60 Hz
And you can try turning off V-Sync (Image synchronization).Make sure your Direct X is up to date.That your emulator and plugins are up to date.
