Thread: Resolution Changing

    Unhappy Resolution Changing

Whenever I record a movie for an emulator like Visual Boy Advance, or really any other emulator like Gens or Snes9x, I have one major problem. When I record the AVI, there doesn't seem to be any way to change the output resolution so that it is in higher quality. This is an especially big problem with Visual Boy Advance, as the default resolution is really, really small. I've looked in the configuration file, searched the Internet several times, and found nothing. I really need these videos in high quality. Does anyone know how to increase the video resolution?

What you do is make the screen bigger whilst it is recording, the video file will be the same dimensions as the window it is in.

I tried that, it still rendered in the default resolution.

What you might want to try is a different fork from the Visualboy Advance emulator, It has better AVI recording features then normal Visualboy Advance. There is also a fork much like it for Snes9x. If you haven't heard of it, its called VBA Re-Recording. I would try using that emulator and see what happens. The reason why I gave you the answer I gave above is because when I record with Mupen64 Re-Recording, to make it have better quality I would increase the window size and it would record in that resolution.

If none of that works, then you might wanna try recording with the Xvid Codec, you can download it from their website for free, I am able to record just about anything in HD with it.

Also, have you tried messing with its default display settings? If I remember correctly, you can change its default resolution in one of the tabs.
