Zelda the ocarina of time

Hi so i seem to be stuck and cant see any way past this particular obstacle, im in the water temple as adult link i have just gotten the long shot and when i try to use it because i dont have a nintendo controller i can only shoot it right above the target or right below it no matter where im standing does anyone know a solution to this problem? its the first long shot target in the water temple.

The hook shot is aim-able via analogs controls. If your using a keyboard, or your joystick does not have analogs you may be out of luck.
