can someone tell me how to get roms to work for pocket pc

i've got both nes and snes emulators on my phn, samsung omnia with windows mobile 6.1 they both work but every rom i hav on my pc that i try to load either doesnt recognize file or scrambles when it does load, i've tried smc files and zip files is there another type i need or do i need to change something. i've also tried to dwnld other roms from other sites that hav pocket pc emulators and they dnt work either. can some one please help
