Pokemon Trading in TGB and RTC Error in VBA

Hello everyone, recently I have started playing Pokemon Crystal on VBA, and I have so far been playing with Real Time Clock ticked on. I also recently learned a way to trade pokemon from my Crystal save with those from my old Gold save file using TGB. The trading itself works flawlessly; the problem is when I go back to and load my Crystal game on VBA, I get an error saying that RTC could not load for some reason. The traded pokemon and everything is fine, but then the in-game clock gets permanently stuck ~20 minutes ahead of the actual time, presumably due to the time running when I was trading the pokemon on TGB. This may not anger other people, but this frustrates me enough that I am willing to not trade for the sake of correct time. It also pisses me off because they took the capability of changing time in Crystal.

So, can I fix this? Can I trade pokemon through TGB and still keep RTC on and a correct time in VBA?

Apparently VBA DOESN'T work, that's why I downloaded TGB in the first place. I'll still give it a go, though, and see what happens.
