Thread: NES on Xbox

My nephew had a chip put into his xbox and now he can play any old nintendo game, and most games from all other systems. They are all saved on his Xbox. How is this done? He knows someone that will do it, but I would rather do it all myself. Also, what do mod chips do to the Xbox, I am new to all this. Thanks.

How can you play nintendo games on the Xbox, and what can I use a mod chip for in the Xbox? Thanks.

Mod chips are installed onto systems to override their copy protection. So a mod chip intalled onto Xbox would override the copy protection and allow third party software to run on the Xbox. But you also have to install a new dashboard on the Xbox. And modding an Xbox is really hard especially if you don't know what your doing. And to get apps to run on the Xbox, you have to transfer them via an FTP server and network the PC and Xbox.. (many people use FlashFTP)

    Take a look at http://www.xbox-scene.com/tutorials.php

I figured I'd tack this onto an exisiting thread so I don't get pummeled by forum overlords.
I'm kinda new to all this and am looking for an emulator that plays NES (not SNES) games through a Dreamcast (or through a Gamecube, though I assume it isn't possible). If anyone could point me in a general direction with a link or something, I'd be super appreciative.

    Thanks.

There are many NES emulators for Dreamcast that work pretty well.
