Freeze after first screen?

Hey everyone. I have been a huge fan of FF7 since the moment I turned it on back in 97. I bought the game and just played the thing to death and with age and new systems I never replaced the game.

Well, I found ePSXe 1.7.0 and had some renewed faith in being able to play again. After setting up the emulator with the setup wizard (scph1001, Pete's OpenGL Driver 1.77, Eternal SPU Plugin, ePSXe CDR WNT/W2k core 1.7.0) I tried to load up FF7 from an ISO file and the game actually began to play... well... sort of.

After seeing "Sony Computer Entertainment America Presents" on the first screen, the game stops. I never get beyond that part and I am completely lost as to what I can do to fix this. I have my computer's specs listed with my profile from DirectX Diagnostic Tool so if there is anything anyone can suggest at all I would greatly appreciate the help.

Again, please please please help me get this going. Ive been looking forward to playing FF7 since I found the emulator... I hope this can be fixed.

Switch to ePSXe 1.5.2. Some Square games have problem with this since 1.6.0.
