When you go over to File > Run BIOS; Does it show the black screen again?

Nope, I get the PS1 start-up screen. It has to be the .iso because I know the cd works with the emulator as well. I'll try to make another .iso and see what happens.

Re-making the .iso seems to have worked. The FPS is odd though. I'm being told that I am getting 58-60 FPS, the screen is skipping.

Edit: Nevermind, it was just on the opening FMV. And if the FMVs aren't working that is fine with me, I've seen them more time than I need to.

Glad to hear, it worked for you.
Always limit your FPS by going to Config > Video > Configure
    Tick mark :
    Use FPS Limit
    Auto Detect FPS/Frame Skipping

    Thanks for all your help.

I only have one more question that might be harder to fix. Basically when I get into battles the battle box (wrong word probably, the box where you choose commands) flickers. At first it wasn't showing up at all until I messed around with my video configuration.

    Your welcome, Stoned Ape.
Some games are not supported perfectly. You can always try a different graphics plugin.
P.E.Op.S Soft Driver 1.17 might work the best. Try it out
