Exclamation ePSXe Final Fantasy 9 bug, when enemy casts magic

I've got to the end of Disc 3 and can't get any further because of this bug.

    ********FF9 SPOILERS*******

I'm at the stage where you fight that dragon thing, Garland and Kuja in succession, I beat the first 2 no problem and even manage to battle Kuja for a while, but as soon as he tries to cast Thundaga is mucks up.

    *********END SPOILERS***********

Basically it gets stuck on the animation of him casting the spell. It doesn't freeze, because everything is still moving, all the ATBs fill up and I can choose my 'moves' but because he never actually finishes casting the spell the battle does not progress

Someone told me it was a problem with the Save States, so I loaded a save in the 'traditional' way but got the same problem. Help!

Might be a bad rom or a bad emu. I played it trought with PSXeven but am now using the emulator simply known as PSX. Try it out, should work.

Will I be able to use my savegames from ePSXe on either of those? Not the save states obviously, but the virtual memory card saves (think they're .mcr?)

I dont think you can. I tried using PSXeven memcard saves on PSX. They either didnt show up or crashed the game.
