Fusion Netplay Not Working

Today I tried multiple things to get netplay from learning it myself to looking it up and using the IP address. Whenever we start on the PC joining it says Fusion has stopped working and closes while the host stays running. Whats going on?

I found this somewhere else:

Load a 2 or more player game and go to File>Netplay>Start Netplay Game and set yourself a nickname and go to Create but don't click on Start just yet until all of your friends have joined. After you do that, tell your friend to put in your IP adress that you gave him and then he should click Join. Finally, when you see your friend's name, click on Start.
