VBA Cheats Will Not Work! Any Tips?

I've been trying to play Shining Soul 2 and Golden Sun 1 using the cheat function, but they won't work. It went fine with Pokemon Ruby, but for some reason, I can' t get it to work with these two.

So far, I've made sure to delete the space in between the codes when I copy and paste them, but beyond that I don't know what else I'm doing wrong.

Any help would be MOST appreciated!

Have you tried different codes like the Action Replay or Game Genie?
