How to play .ips SNES-games with SNES-Station on PS2?

I'd like to play .ips-patched SNES-games with SNES-Station on PS2, but somehow it won't run the .ips-games on SNES-Station.. I've named the .ips same as the .smc, but when I load the game in SNES-Station on PS2, it won't load the game.. How do I manage to load the .ips-game..? Anyone who knows?

you ever try applying the patch on a PC and the mover the rom over and playing it? If so then its possible the SNES-Station just is not capable of this.
