Question Xbox 360 wireless controller + PJ64 help

I bought a xbox 360 wireless controller reciever for windows a bit back, hoping to play some games. I recently loaded up PJ64 on my comp, everything is working, emulators are fine but i want to have a more true experience with these emulators. Use a real controller to play them.

I have nrage's newest controller plugin and its been added but when i go to "change input" to change the controls (like you would for keyboard) It just doesnt work.

I click on the button, then I press whichever button on the controller i want to change it to, but nothing, its like the controller isnt sending anything to the emulator. I went to the control panel in my comp and went to calibrate it, all buttons are coming up and the joysticks are working fine but the emulator doesnt like it. I cant even change the controls at all actually. It only gives me a " ry - " for a new control imput.

I looked on youtube and followed the ppl exactly as they did it and I cant get nothing out of it. btw my drivers are all updated fully

If anyone has an answer that could help I would be very appreciative

    thanks

Your problem is the fact that the "plug-ins" are not yet configured to "detect" nor "use" wireless receiver controller types. Not your controller, just an issue not yet worked upon for the N64 emulation...

Ah, sounds like your doing everything right, but heard thru the grapevine "wireless controllers don't work with PC emulation - even with a converter..." though found a topic that may help ( http://www.emutalk.net/showthread.php?t=43578 )

    May I stand corrected... LOL

Thats like exactly what im experiencing, no one said that the controllers wouldnt work though, not sure where you heard that, I wouldnt think it'd be different because its still using a USB hookup and such.

But in the PJ64 "configue controller plugin" menu, i cant even change the controls to keyboard strokes or mouse buttons.

    Im just confused

you most likely also need the Xbox 360 accessories software from microcoft so the the pc can actually pick up the 360 controller.

That's just bazaar. If not even detecting keys, must be something wrong... Curious, what kind and brand keyboard you have? Also, the link I gave you above (if scrolling down to a "Shugo") had a link to a plug-in made especially for the XBox Wireless controller - if taking maybe you tried it...
