First I'm going to say you're always best to use an n64 adapter and just use the original..

Ok here is my suggestion. Keep in mind your using a psx style with an n64 game. Not the best way to do it..

use left analog for analog - should already be the case
directional for directions. - no brainer
    start for start
    Top shoulder l for n64 L
    Top shoulder r for n64 R
    4 - b
    3 - a
    1 - c - left
    2 - c down

    I'd use select as c - up
    shoulder left c -right
and bottom shoulder right for trigger.

Since c - up and right are not used as many game main actions...

But some games you will need the c - buttons as
    1 - c - up
    2 - c right
    3 - c down
    4 - c left
this is way its back to use a psx for n64..

Original, the only way to play.
