Silent Hill?

So, this is my very first time using an emulator, so I really don't have much idea what's going on. I ran in to quite a few problems, and I was finally able to open the game, and get to the opening screen of the game, but when I click Play, I get a blank screen and I'm stuck. Any idea what I could be missing?

What emulator you are using? Try pSX since it is simple to be configured.
