Zsnes comes with a GUI you must have downloaded the one designed for use with a front-end.
Rar is just a form of compression (like Zip). Download the WinRar utility and use it to unzip your roms which will then be in the .smc format.
Hi, everyone.
I've read through the guides here, but haven't found a solution to my problem.
I'm using SNES9x, my preferred emulator, but all I can find online are SNES roms with a .rar extension. SNESE9x won't play them, and I'm not computer savvy enough to screw with changing extensions and what-not. So, here are my questions:
-I've googled trying to find a good place to get .smc SNES roms, but no luck. Where do I get them?
-Is there a way to get SNES9x to play my .rar files?
-What am I doing wrong?
I've also tried ZSNES, but I can't figure it out, and it's DOS-like structure is intimidating.
Sorry for the bother, and thanks in advance for any assistance!

Right click on one of the rar files and select 'open with' from the pop up menu and select Winrar.
Or you can open your windows Control Panel (start, select, control panel) select the 'file types' folder, scroll down to rar files, select it then use the pane at the bottom to change what it opens with.
