Help! USB controller with ZSNES?

Ok, wrong heading. How do I save my game? Im playing with the "save state" option and every time I go to load it it says it "failed to load state" I know I must sound like a dumb@$$ to those of you who know what youre doing but I would appreciate a little help.

Well, it sounds like it isn't loading for it thinks it's not there, but go into your games directory and make sure the save state file ".zst" is named exactly as the name of the rom file or it won't detect it. Another thing it might be, make sure your loading from the actual slot it was saved on, if not sure, click "Pick State" and go through each one by "loading" them to see if it comes up. Other then that, guess I'm lost, unless ya can give me more details...
