Trouble with Vbalink?

Excuse me if this has been asked before, but this is annoying me.

When I open vbalink, I load up Pokemon Fire Red, and attempt to load my game. But when I load it, the vbalink screen turns purple-ish, and it freezes, its about 20% speed. Anyone know a way that I can fix this?

If I play Pokemon games, I use NO$GBA
I play Pokemon Diamond on it, and I play pokemon Firered on my real GBA
