Audio replacement?

Is there a way to replace the audio of an N64 rom like the Rice Video Plugin method for replacing textures? Because I'm thinking of hacking the Mario Kart 64 rom to emulate "Zelda Kart 64". And to make it more realistic I'd need to add my own midis and what-have-you.
