Thread: Z-Net

    Default Z-Net

Z-Net is an mIRC script that connects netplay-enabled emulators, to help you find and set up online games with other people. Currently, only the Super Nintendo emulator ZSNES is supported, but with Z-Net's addon system, support for other emulators can be easily added later. Z-Net is still in the beta phase, so you may encounter some bugs here and there, and there may not always be someone active in the room, but the script is fully functional and still very intuitive.

Should you experience any problems, there is an install guide on the main page, and the room has friendly users that would be more than willing to help you with your problems. So be sure to drop by and check us out!

Z-Net Version 2.0 Beta 5 has been released! New features include:

    - Auto refreshing gamelist implemented
    - You can now open another player's list if you already have another open
    - New sounds have been added (you can select your own from within the settings menu)
    - Settings now have an new add-on configurations
    - 3 New Hotkeys have been added
    - Some errors and messages have been re-worded

And of course there were many bug fixes and small tweaks along the way. You can grab the new version from the downloads page or the install guide from the site.

Ah, sorry about that. Won't do it again.

Also, Z-Net is in search of a computer artist. If you would like to join the project and help with the icon, background picture, and things like that, join us in the chat room, or leave a post in the forums. Thanks!

There's a difference of 7 days between his posts, so it must be OK to double post in this case; I don't know... I must check the rules.

You know, to bump the thread

Other emulators such as VBAlink are definitely possible, and once 2.0 is released (we are currently in beta), anyone can make their own emulator addons for Z-Net. I doubt anyone would make an addon for SNES9x, as ZSNES has better netplay, and the fact that ZSNES, a snes emulator, is already supported. But if you wanted, I suppose you could.

As the author said on the main page, he is working on another addon for another emulator at the moment, and I think you guys will very pleased with it when it comes out
