all i wanted to do was play paper mario but this has gotten very complicated.
i have downloaded the N64 emulators 1964, project 64, and nemu64. i have also downloaded the rom for paper mario. when i start up any one of the emulators and load that file it says its fine to play and compatible but when i try to play it it says there is problems with my OpenGL and direct3D or something. PJ64 says "Direct 3D failed to initialize your HAL device" 1964 says "Error to start video" Nemu64 says "Direct 3D Device initialization failed" yes i downloaded and re intalled directx. my video card is a Radeon 9600. PLEASE HELP ME.

yea i have version 1.6... and how is it i would enable those features?
Start --> Run.
Type dxdiag.
Click on Display tab.
Check if all three features are enabled: DirectDraw, Direct3D and Texture acceleration.
sorry i couldn't get on for a while there were some problems but when i did finally get on i did what you said and its working now... THANKS FOR YOUR HELP but i have a new problem now... Like i said i have paper mario and the graphics are just completely messed up. Its flickering a lot too. I figured it was a problem with my video plugin, am i right? if so, do you know a good video plugin that will work with paper mario on Project64?
