To VBA from NO$GBA?

In order to successfully save in Pokemon Emerald after the Elite Four, I exported my battery file to NO$GBA.

Now I want to return to VBA. But when I try to import the battery file, VBA gives me an error, saying "Cannot open file."

Is there a trick to exporting from NO$GBA to VBA?

Also, when I am playing with the BIOS file in NO$GBA, the graphics in the opening titles and in combat become glitched and blocky. I can fix this just by not using the BIOS file, a bad BIOS file have something to do with the problem in transferring saves?

Saving always worked fine for me in vba, even after beating the elite 4.
There's probably something wrong with the emulator's configuration or somehow it got screwed up.
