Can't record movie in Nestopia

Hello, Im new to these forums, and I came here because it seems like a pretty good site, lot of people here, anyway..

I got Nestopia 1.3.7 and I am trying to use the movie player on it. However, all of the options except for File are grayed out, even while a game is running. I viewed the documentation that came with the program but it says nothing about this. I tried going to file, browse, then just saving a file, but it won't let me do that either (no file is saved).

Anything I have to do to get this workin' or am I maybe just SOL?

Or maybe anybody knows of a good video capture program that is free (unlike fraps)?
