Ever burned a disc that worked fine on PC but not the console?
I have a CloneCD image set for Rage Racer.. I even tried burning it at 1x and the music skips and screws up on the console.. But it plays fine in epsxe
Whats the deal with that?

you did used the "cue" file to burn it right?
because if you didnt, some disc info might get bypassed.
anyways, try burning on 8x-16x.
cheers!
Re: Ever burned a disc that worked fine on PC but not the console?
I already said it was a clonecd set... so naturally I used the CCD file that came with it.
The music IS there, it just skips for some reason.. I don't see how increasing the burn speed is going to fix it either.. I already wasted the first disc burning it at a higher speed, and as I said, I also tried burning it at 1x........
The image +sub plays fine in the emulator, music and all.

Have you tried it on a PS2 ?
Re: Ever burned a disc that worked fine on PC but not the console?
That's rather pointless. You'll end up with the same result if its the disc, and I don't have modded consoles growing on trees or anything anyway..
Re: Ever burned a disc that worked fine on PC but not the console?
AFAIK it's pretty common. There're two possibilties:
1) Your PSX laser it's not on good shape and can't properlly read burnt discs. You migth neeed to adjust or replace it.
2) The PSX doesn't like the CD media you've used, or it doesn't work correctly with your burner.
BTW, burning at slow speed is actually pointless, "the slower the burn, the deeper the hole" is just a myth. It might eventually be true with either bad media or CD burner, and damaged console laser. This won't be true with a good burner and good media compatible with that recorder, so in that cases the best speed would be the CD labeled, usually the max. possible. The test PI/PO said it all.
PD: Nice game RR

use Alcohol-120
Download Here
also, is your psx modded?

It is defenetely what hagbard said.I had the same problem some time ago.
You shouldn't use cheap CDs.
My PSone's laser is not working well.I have some games that work on my newer PS2 but don't work on PSone.
Re: Ever burned a disc that worked fine on PC but not the console?
Well I've tried this on about 3 different brands of CD's now, and one fo those was memorex, which I've found pretty reliable.
I haven't used Alcohol in ages though, so I guess I could give it a shot eventually.
Re: Ever burned a disc that worked fine on PC but not the console?
Latest version of Alcohol and it was even worse off. Intro video was skipping like hell
Screw this image.
