I'm going to be shopping for one soon I was thinking of getting a NVIDIA GeForce anywhere between 6600 and 9000. Preferably 512mb video memory. I was wondering what card works best for PCSX2. Thanks in advance.

go for the 9000 series cards as it is the latest of them and have latest features etc(among 6000-9000 series cards)
but try to pick something like 9800GTX/GT or 9600GT because they are more powerful than 9400 or 9500 or 9600 versions.so they will perform better.:)
The best bang for your buck is going to be 8xxx and 9xxx. 8800GT for example is great for PCSX2 and I imagine the 9600GT is even better. you can read some comments here.
Yeah, the 9800 range is a great choice if you're going to play PC games. You must keep in mind that using it for PS2 emulation will help, but just a bit. It has to do with how optimized the emulator is.
I dont really understand what you mean by optimized? Do you mean configured correctly?
Heres my specs
My Specs:bow:
Vista
Amd Athlon 64 X2 Dual Core Processor 4000+ 2.10ghz
2gb ram
NVIDIA GeForce 6150SE
I just took out my 8500 gt 512mb nvidia geforce because it was becoming defective. I'm not even sure what my video memory is now that i have a 6150se. Also when I took it out I went from Hardware Graphics card to Software Graphics card.
I found this one on newegg im thinking about getting it. Its a 9800gt with 512mb video memory pci express.

When I say optimized it's the way the emulator has been written to correct issues and slowdowns and thus running as more accurrate as possible, or even better. That's why you see each version is faster and better than the previous ones, but there are hardware limitations of course (you still need a fast computer). Emulation is extremely hard to achieve.
In other words, upgrading your video card will have little effect in performance.
Ahh well I hear a high end dual core is much better than that of a quad core. From all the information I was reading in the emuforums. Even though my comp isnt really a high end dual core.
That's because no emulator has been written to use all four cores of a quad-core processor, but only two of them, making a quad-core perform like a dual-core processor. I've tried PCSX2 on my quad-core PC and the CPU usage goes up to 50% (two cores).
Well I think im going to go with the 9400 gt because its signifigantly cheaper than the 9800. That being said also I'm making a 3.0 dual core amd. I'm just doing this so I can sell it on ebay or what not. However... In the future ill make it again and run a pcsx2 emulator on it.
The 9400 GT is cheaper but also a lot slower than the 9800.
9800GT...
Umm... what's with that reverbnation.com link?
Looks like bot mischief to me.
