View Full Version : Nintendo Virtualboy?
Why is there no mention of this nintendo console? I know it never caught on, but thats why it must live on on the net! To show that evn Nintendo makes mistakes!
It wasn't successful and then emulator developments didn't bother to do an emulator for it.
Thats what I also thought, but i looked around and found 3 Virtualboy emulators!!
Good find  I didn't even know there was Nintendo VirtualBoy emulators. But will there be ROMs for it? I've never seen them, but with a bit of luck you can find them.
Found a few roms with the help of google! And all 3 emulators can be found on Emu X haven!
Don't say where you found them.
Why cant i? Its not like nintendo cares! Its the only way for the virtualboy to live on!!!

I'll take your word for it since you seem to be working at Nintendo's legal department(if you know what I mean).

Of course they do care, and a lot.
... Back to what matters! I think it can do with a mention on the site... somewhere..! And I think Nintendo wants the virtualboy to be forgotten... and its our job to not let that happen!

Most (but not all) games for it are dumped. One of the emulators (sorry, can't remember which one) is pretty good and can play some of them.
These games are the ones that are out (taken from the No-Intro dats):
3-D Tetris (U)
Galactic Pinball (JU)
Golf (U)
Innsmouth no Yakata (J)
Jack Bros. (U)
Jack Bros. no Meiro de Hiihoo! (J)
Mario Clash (JU)
Mario's Tennis (JU)
Nester's Funky Bowling (U)
Panic Bomber (U)
Red Alarm (J)
Red Alarm (U)
Space Squash (J)
T&E Virtual Golf (J)
Teleroboxer (JU)
Tobidase! Panibon (J)
Vertical Force (J)
Vertical Force (U)
Virtual Boy Wario Land (JU)
Virtual Fishing (J)
Virtual League Baseball (U)
Virtual Pro Yakyuu '95 (J)
V-Tetris (J)
Waterworld (U)
Finally! Someone that cares!... and seem to know about the virtualboy! Thanx man

For what it's worth I think that since Virtualboy IS a dead gaming system it should be added here. I guess I'll have to work on the matter one of these days.

I had gotten a bargain the other day, 30 Virtual Boy Games and the full virtual boy set for $50

A bare bones section has been created. Before taking it officially online though you might want to give some suggestions regarding text. I really have no idea on what to write there.
Take a look here (http://www.emulator-zone.com/doc.php/virtualboy/) and post after you think something.

Looks alright to me. Not much can really be said about the virtual boy.
Just go to planet virtual boy! The guy is actually still working on Reality boy... think its at v0.8
I have found virtual boy heaven!
www.vr32.de/modules/tech
Reality boy (v0.82.2) and ViBE (v1.0b8) is still in development!

I don't want to carbon copy info about the system! I just want some about the specific emulators.
I guess I'll do a few tweaks and make that section public.
I didnt say make a carbon copy! Just thought you could use Planet virtual boy for more info, and to get the latest of all 4 of its emulators. Just wanted to help

I updated the files and fixed some other things. The section is now "live".
Great job! Everything seems to be in place... just one last question... Why is ViBE not listed under virtual boy emulators? Thanx again for al the work!

Why is ViBE not listed under virtual boy emulators?
Probably because it is (unfortunately) Mac only...
And is there something wrong with the 'rating counters' on the virtual boy section? Cause i voted for all 3 emulators, but it doesnt show on the 'main' virtual boy page...

The site pages are cached. Any votes will appear after the sever flushes the cache or after it's cleaned manually.
O... Ok... Did not know that. Well I guess thats it. Thanx for all your work!... Now I have to get something else to bitch about.... ScummVM anyone?

Dude its not our JOB to do anything about it dying.
Its our DECISION to let it die or not.
We are not letting it die!... It never really got the chance to live!! It was only ever released in the USA and Japan.... and not 'with you...'
DudeJustDoIT

you know why it never got the chance?? Because it wasnt worth it.
The only semi interesting game they had was a tennis game.
Thats pretty bad.
... It has nothing to do with how secsesfull it is! Someone had to make it, and emulators for it! I know it! Otherwise it would be more well know!

The more successful something is the more well known it is so.... try and rephrase.

You asked for a section dedicated to Virtual Boy and you got it. That pretty much ends the purpose of this thread.
As for the debate you guys are having I must say that it's rather interesting but the one fact remains. Nintendo, Sega, Sony and all the other gaming companies create consoles for the sole purpose of making profit and not for charity. If something does not sell well in the market it get's discontinued just pure and simple.
It's the law of the market people, live with it.
... I dont remember ever asking for a virtual boy section... I just wanted to know why the site didnt have one... But thanks for making it anyway!

This is what we call a suggestion, it is also indirectly asking to place the said subject on the site, in your words, "somewhere."
Again i must ask you to rephrase because you just stuck your foot in your mouth.

I'm closing this before you two start throwing daggers at each other.
