USB gamepad and Gens

For some reason I can use my USB Logitech Rumblepad 2 with ZNES but not with GENS. Anyone know a way around this?

i know this might sound daft but hav u tried configuring the controls on the gens control panel or wotever it is.

It was a real simple solution. In ZNES I could play without hitting the mode button on the controller. In Gens I had to hit the Mode button on the controller. Strange, but it works now.
