Zsnes turbo mode?

Hello, i've been trying to get the turbo mode for this emulator to work and apparently I have to press ~. However this err.. just doesn't work, not even any text comes up sayiny that it has. Can anyone help please?

What turbo feature do you mean? The controller's turbo or the emulator's turbo?

The "~" key is to speed up the emulator.
