"No Controller"?

I am trying to use the 1964 emulator and have downloaded Harvest Moon and Super Mario 64 so far but each one says "no controller" when I try to play it. Can someone please help me?

well you click plugins than input setting or crtl+i than the configuration will apear ,so then:
click plugged and after choose the configuration at youre willing ex. click up and then choose and a button on the keyboard or on the joypad(if have one)

but I would HIGHLY RECOMMEND project64 much easier to configureand better
